My family has it set up where I am marked as a child so that I can have time restrictions set. I bought a new laptop and tried setting it up using the child account and it says I can’t use it because I don’t have time and neither requesting more time or manually adding any works. Specifically when trying to manually add time it asks if I want to allow it to make changes to my device and I have to say yes but when I do it says I can’t do that because of my account type. It tells me to change my account to standard user. What does this mean, how can I use my computer while still having time rest

Child account

I did set up a Child account, I did fallow all the steps window ask, the account say that the child is in the family, when I tried to log, give me the message "The Profile Service service Failed The Sign-in. User Profile cannot be loaded".

Answering your questions:

• Did you make any changes to the child account prior to the issue? No, I did not make any changes.
• Since when you are facing this issue? Right from the start. I never got to login.
• Are you able to login with other child accounts on the computer? No

I suggest you to restart the computer once and check if you are able to login to the computer. I did, the same problem, I do not have any problem with my account or my wife.

Add computer to the child's account

Please sign in with the child’s Microsoft account on the computer and then verify it.

1. Go to Settings, Accounts, Your info.

2. Press the option Sign in with a Microsoft account instead

3. Perform the on-screen instructions

Then verify the account.

4. Go to Settings, Account, Your info

5. Tap on Verify

6. Perform the on-screen instructions

After that you can confirm if the devices are added. Log on to
https://login.live.com using your child account and follow the steps:

On the top right icon menu go to View Account, then on the top menu bar press Devices, Check if all the three devices appear in the list of associated devices.

If your child’s computer keeps shutting off while the child is using it, it might be possible that a screen time limit for your Child’s Microsoft account is set at a minimal level.

If it is really so, follow the steps to remove the screen time limit:

1. Sign-in with your Microsoft account at
https://login.live.com

2. Find your child’s name and select Screen time

3. Make sure that Use one screen time schedule is set at OFF

4. If it is set at ON, switch it to OFF.
