Windows 10: If I play Hi-Fi music on Tidal and record loopback of what I'm hearing through WASAPI...

Always wondered this because it would save me alot of hasle and risk with having to deal with 3rd party downloaders.

Hi Angus, by far the best free software for this purpose is Audacity

Audacity has a useful feature that can record the audio coming out of your computer

This method takes advantage of a feature called Windows Audio Session API (WASAPI)

In Audacity, choose the “Windows WASAPI” audio host

Then choose an appropriate loopback device, such as “Speakers (loopback)” or “Headphones (loopback).”

Click the Record button to start recording

These are the steps to record internal Audio:

In Audacity, choose the “Windows WASAPI” audio host

Then an appropriate loopback device - Speakers (loopback)

Click the Record button to start recording the audio in Audacity,

Click Stop when you’re done

Then if needs be you can trim the recording

Finally save the Audio File
