    If I RDP into a server by name it says my password is wrong.


    I have many servers, recently some of them begin giving me an error that my credentials were invalid password. If I RDP into the same server, using the IP address instead of the server's name, the login works.Two other admins here have seen the same thing.Anybody have a fix?

    RD Gateway Server - how to remove permanently

    Hello,
    At my previous job, I was asked to take certain steps (don't remember now what they were) but it was to set up RDP to use a Gateway server.

    Now that I've changed jobs, I still see the old IP and Gateway server information. I went to registry and deleted the entries from Terminal client and servers.

    However, I still see a server name listed under RDP-Advanced-Settings-Use these RD Gateway Server settings.
    I have opted for - Do not use RD Gateway server but was wondering how to remove the old server name entry completely.

    Always have to retype saved password for it to connect to the server with RDP

    So I have a desktop with Windows 7 and a server with win server 2008r2.

    I have remote desktop setup with the username and password to connect to the server. Everytime it says something like authentication failed or something similar with the saved password, but if I type in the
    same password again, it works and connects.

    I tried turning windows firewall off, changing the password, deleting the saved RDP icon and making a new one with the saved password, and a few other things. Any idea on how to fix this?

    Can't RDP - wants password

    I've been entering passwords for 3 days now !! Yes with netplwiz on the machine to connect to,Win10-PC2?
    In netplwiz I click a User name then "Reset Password". (Does it matter which user, although have tried 2 different ones)

    Then I use that name and that password on the other machine (the one running Remote Desktop)

    It gives me the error about expired password.
    Am I doing something wrong, or missing some required step?
    LOL why should it be so hard ? Kindof puzzled why I should have to play with that Oracle Mediation setting.. is that usual or might it indicate something else is wrong and that's why none of this is working?
