Windows 10: If I reinstall my windows 11 OS, will all programs or/and files disappear?

So, my pc has been rebooting itself randomly, and it usually doesn't give me enough time to do anything, so I've decided to simply reinstall the OS via a USB.Now, I'd like to know beforehand, if reinstalling windows will mean I'll have to reinstall all my programs, or even worse, my files will be gone.I'd also like to know if switching to Windows 10, will also either uninstall or delete all files and programs, since it is something I've wanted to do for a while.That's all, thanks.

Reinstall Windows?

I just went to the official Windows Vista Compatibility website and checked the x64 compatibility for some of the programs I run. One of those programs is Adobe Premier Elements 4 and it happens to have a big red X and "Not Compatible" listing. That's just one example. Several other programs I use regularly are also listed as not compatible and a whole bunch more aren't even on the list.

So are you saying that these programs will run ok under the Vista x64 OS but in a 32-bit mode? Is that how it works or are there really a bunch of programs out there which simply won't work under the Vista x64 OS?

Partitioning Program Files/Program Files(x86) from Windows 10 install?

In the coming week I will be installing Windows 10 Home on my new computer. I will be using an SSD and an HDD, the SSD for the OS, programs and games and the HDD for photos, music and all the other slow stuff.
So, my question. In case the OS were to ever get corrupted, or I had to reinstall the OS for any other reason, is it possible to have the SSD set up as follows; Partition 1 - OS, Partition 2 - Program Files/Program Files((x86) plus other associated folders/files) and Partition 3 for my games, so that any re-install does not wipe out my already installed programs?

I had no problem doing this in with my XP desktop(OS in C and Progs in D, although not perfect, but was never able to do it with Windows 7.

Can it be done?

Files disappear from a second drive after reinstalling OS


Two weeks ago my primary hdd, a Samsung 850 Pro 1TB died, but I wasn't very worried being the drive in warranty and having a second hard drive (a WD 2 TB) where I store photos, documents, saves and other important files.
I proceeded to reinstall the OS on the new drive and something weird is going on; on the second drive many files just disappear, like it was restored a older version of the content. Basically latest files are time stamped june 2015.
I tried different recovery programs with both light and deep scan (Data Rescue 3, Ease Recovery, Getback, ecc.) but none of those programs can find any trace of the files I am looking for and I am going crazy to understand what is going on.

The only difference is that I am using a different SATA port on the MB than before.

Any suggestions?
