Windows 10: If I remove an @hotmail.co.uk alias from my microsoft account will it be deleted?

I have an old anonymous style hotmail account that I use for ham type stuff. I don't really use it much and have a new real-name based gmail account that is my primary account.It's annoying that I have to use my old address to sign into my PC.I've just found out that I can add the new email to the account and set it as primary....but what happens if I remove the hotmail account - will it be deleted or will it still work if I log into outlook?Also if I do remove it and it doesn't get deleted can it be added back to this or any other account in future?I ask because I have a different problem wi

Hello,

I wanted to remove alias from my Microsoft account. I didn't want my private @hotmail account to be bound with my Microsoft account that I use at work. As found on the web I have added my other, @gmail, account as an alias and removed the @hotmail one. But now I can't login to my hotmail account anymore. The same happens if I try to re-add my @hotmail alias. Any e-mail that is sent to my @hotmail address is not delivered. Can you please help me with recovery of this account?
