Windows 10: If I reset my laptop but kept the files, will the main Microsoft account get deleted?

Hello, I was installing avg anti-virus software but then at the very end it stopped installing and crashed. I had to install a clean up app after trying to stop the installing with taskkill ince it was kind of a loop that never stopped, and it asked me to restart the laptop to delete the app completely and get everything done. But my pc didn't ask me for my usual pin when it turned on, but for my Microsoft account password. But whenever I type it, windows tells me it's incorrect I Can access the acc from other devices tho and after few times of passwords changing, still nothing works. I

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.

• Are you referring to your Microsoft account or the local account on your laptop?

If you are referring to a Microsoft account, kindly follow these steps:

• Click on the Windows logo.
• Go to Settings.
• Select Accounts.
• Click on Manage another account.
• In the prompt you can either click on Keep Files (which will keep a back up of all your files) or
  Delete Files (which will delete all the files associated with this account).
• Click on Delete Account.

Note: Please backup your files to prevent any loss of data.

Undo Built-in Administrator Account tied to a Microsoft Account

Hello @Converseallstar95,

Could it be that the built-in Administrator may just be signed in to the Store app with the Microsoft account?

If so, then you could reset the "Microsoft Store" app back to default to see if that may remove the association.
