Hi, I'm getting multiple calls each week with people somehow activating the Windows 10 "Xbox game bar" and their computer acting as though it was frozen, even Ctrl-Alt-Del's task manager unreachable behind a "xbox" overlay with no obvious way to close it. People seeing this "xbox social" popup and reasonably thinking that it's malware, doing forced powerdowns of the computer etc. Using the powershell commands to remove these will only work temporarily."Get-AppxPackage -allusers XboxApp Remove-AppxPackage Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay Remove-AppxPackage Get-AppxPack

    :)

  4. If I tell the antivirus software to block running Microsoft's GameBar.exe, will it cause...

    Gamebar process problem

Yeah, Like many people here have commented I have disabled everything in relation to Windows Game mode, gamedvr and gamebar in the settings menu. When that failed to fix the issue, I disabled everything in the registry in relation to game mode, gamedvr and
gamebar. That stupid gamebar presence process was still there. Then I used powershell to remove the xbox app. Still there. It only started doing this today. Please get rid of this crap and give me back control over what runs on my own computer.

    Thanks.
