Windows 10: If I Will revert all settings in nVidia control panel my GPU will be less hot?

Hi, so i have laptop with a Nvidia geforce 940mx gpu 2 gb , yesterday i noticed that i had a setting called power management , set to maximum performance ( because i i wanted some fps in games , but i reverted it , and my laptop gpu is now less hot . With that setting set to prefer maximum performance , i wasn't even able to touch my keyboard sometimes.

Now , if im playing a game , the gpu will get hot , but not like before , it was like an oven. I have more settings that i've modified , can you tell me guys , if should I revert them all , because ,,probably" my gpu will be less hot . I will list them:


OpenGL rendering Gpu: from default (auto select) is set to my gpu( geforce 940mx)


Anti-alising Mode: from application controlled ( default ) it's set to Off


Texture filtering : from quality ( default ) it's set to performance.


So If i will reset this settings too the gpu will be less hot ? These settings can make my gpu hot , or only the power management , that i've already set to default. Please help any comment is really appreciated!

Nvidia Control Panel - Disappeared after Windows 10 Version 1703 update

Thanks for the information. The problem was that it also was not listed on Control Panel - All Control Panel Items after the update. It was the second place I looked when I could not find it on the desktop. I did a complete search for the Nvidia Control,
Nvidia Control Panel and Nvidia on the C and D drives, and the Nvidia Control Panel was no where to be found. I was able to locate the Nvidia GForce Experience app (listed on the apps menu and via a search and it function fine) and able to locate the Nvidia
Driver using Device Manager, but I was unable to locate the Nvidia Control Panel. The Nvidia Icon, which is also set using the Nvidia Control Panel, that appears at the bottom right of the screen was also missing. All is now good after talking with Nvidia
Support and following their instructions.

Ramankuar, please explain what you found

1. In BIOS did you see your nVidia GPU

2. In Device Manager were both Graphics cards listed?

3. If you right click your Desktop are nVidia Settings listed on that menu?

4. In Control Panel, is nVidia Settings app listed?

 

Problems with NVIDIA GEFORCE GPU and DirectX

Well I'm logged into a Microsoft account if that's what you're asking. Prior to the issue the only things I did that could be considered change were installing DirectX 11 and changing which GPU the games would use via NVIDIA Control Panel.

No, it isn't specific to any game. Any game that uses a GPU will not launch.
