Windows 10: If it's possible for Win11 not showing " -File Explorer" on taskbar after every folder I open?

It is completely unnecessary and does not enhance the appearance of the taskbar. It's making the folder's name bulky, and we can already see the icon, which makes it clear that this is File Explorer.

File Explorer and Taskbar working intermittently after Win11 upgrade from Win 10

I just upgraded from Win10 to Win11. Now my Task Bar is working intermittently. That is, in the task bar I right click on Excel (for example) in the task bar, then I left click on a file from the list of those I have opened before, but nothing seems to happen immediately (in Win10 it opened immediately). In some case the file may open after 5 minutes, other times the file does not open at all.

The same is true of Explorer and the files that are listed there.

I seem to have more luck when I do the following: Go to the taskbar, right-click on Excel or Explorer, then right-click on the file (excel) or folder (Explorer), then left-click on “open.” This last step is instead of left-clicking on the file (excel) or folder (Explorer). Sometimes, this results in the file opening and/or opening quickly…. But sometimes it still won’t open.

I had none of these problems with Win10.

logarajsivasamy, my "Show recently opened items..." (step 4) was already on. Although recent folders appear in Word, Excel etc in the taskbar, they don't appear in File Explorer.

 

Sort File Explorer Folders on Taskbar


Is it possible to sort the file explorer folders on the taskbar ? On my PC, when I have 5 or more folders, they appear in a vertical list (see attached). Every time I restart windows I run a batch file that opens my "standard file explorer folders" minimized to the Taskbar. So I can easily switch to the desired folder. As I use the PC, sometimes the folders become unsorted. Thanks
