If someone knows my product id, can he hack my pc somehow? I'm from India and recently when I called the Microsoft customer support representative on the toll free number (1800111100) for a doubt regarding my system, the person on the phone asked for my product id and product key saying it was for validation purposes. I told him my product ID but did not tell him the product key. He then told me to open SLUI and SLUI 4 to see my product key which now I learned are not the space to see the product key. When I opened SLUI or SLUI 4, the screen went to selecting country option and after selecting, it went to a screen saying 'call and provide your installation ID' and the customer care support person said that's not it and asked me to close it which I did. He then asked me to open cmd and type something to see the product key which I don't remember what was anyhow I closed that in the midway too because I thought doing it was unnecessary. Now I learned that Microsoft customer support don't normally ask for the product key. I know Microsoft customer support will protect my privacy but still I'm asking. Can someone hack our PC if he know the product ID? whether it be someone who works for Microsoft?

• Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
• Type: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey.
• Press Enter. That should give you the product key to type in the activation.

There is still a way to search for your product key. Kindly follow the steps below for you to know your product key:

• Press Windows key + X
• Click Command Prompt (admin)
• Enter the following command: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
• Then hit Enter

The product key will be revealed, copy the product key then enter it.
