If we store our programs in C: SSD will it be faster when it's stored in D: HDD ?

Hi there! This is LOKESH,My laptop configuration is 256GB SSD C: drive and 1TB HDD D: or E: , Intel i5 11th gen.*My query is if I install my programs in C: i.e SSD will it be faster than when it is stored in HDD like D:?*If I use 90% of C: will it reduce the performance of OS? and if I left more space in C: will my OS perform well?*Can you give your suggestion that where should I install my programs SSD or HDD but my SSD space is low 256GB!

Move user folder loc'n: pls confirm - pgms will store data on d:\ HDD

    Dell laptop, Win10Pro, c:\ SSD 100GB, d:\ HDD 900GB

    Before I follow Kari's step-by-step tutorial:

I just want someone to confirm that after I have run Kari's tutorial all (or almost all) programs will, in future, store data only on d:\ on a go-forward basis.

    Thanks

  3. how to move documents pictures etc folders from C: OS ssd to D: data hdd

If it is a new Internal or external drive, you have to format it first. If it has been formatted then skip this step.

If Internal or external drive, plug in or just go to THIS PC and right click on the drive and select Quick Format NTFS

    Restart PC.

Now just select what you want on C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME or C:\Users\Public or if you stashed some more elsewhere on C:\, and right click on it and select copy, and then go to D:\ location where you want it and select paste. (Or select Cut and then Paste
    - to Move). That is it. You can select multiple folders and copy or move them all at the same time.

    OR

    Go here

Settings>>System>>>Storage for SSD storage transfer to HDD

And send your main personal user folders to D:\ Network location/external drive to store them and have your personal folders still listed on C:\ as the shortcut to store them on D:\, so you do not have to go to D:\ to actually access them and so programs
and the system does not become corrupt or have problems accessing a folder.

  4. If we store our programs in C: SSD will it be faster when it's stored in D: HDD ?

HDD replacement with windows store games

    Hi,

I have 2 discs on my PC. Disc C: is SSD with Windows and disc D: is HDD with installed Windows store games. I want to replace disc D: for SSD without redowloading games. Is it possible to just copy contents of HDD to SSD, remove HDD and will it work without
    error messages?
