Windows 10: If you pay for the Windows 10 ESU, when does the extension start?

I have an older Windows 10 computer I'd like to continue to use for another year beyond the Oct 25th cut-off date and was going to buy a 1 year extension ESU option but my question is when does the 1-year extended service period start? Is it on the day you purchase it or is it on October 25th when regular support ends?I plan to replace the computer it can't run Windows 11 within the year but probably not by the end of the year though and this computer doesn't really do much except host files to my local network so it's not used for browsing or regular tasks and is behind a firewall.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Unclear about Windows 7 Professional available for ESU

I have two machines running Windows 7 Professional. They are connected to scientific equipment that will not have compliant software available until 2021. The machines are connected to a network/internet. Is the ESU plan available for Windows 7 Professional
machines as listed in the ESU documents? If so, how can I purchase it? We are a small business and do not have volume pricing or enterprise planning.
