Need more space overall on the laptop not to use but its a requirement for a work program.

Laptop using up ~60GB storage- no idea where!

Hope everyone's had a good weekend!

I have a slight problem with my laptop- it's meant to have 117GB of storage in Windows C: which is fantastic. My only issue is- my documents, temporary files, and other files take up ~40GB and my storage has my 'Apps & Features' down as using 52.9GB, yet when I look at the list of files I can only see approx 20GB or less worth of apps. I've deleted all of my temporary files, done a malware check, and deleted any extra games etc that were hanging round on my laptop, and I still have only managed to get 6.5GB of free space! I realise windows etc needs some space, but surely not 60GB worth!

Does anyone know what might be using up so much space? I know I could buy a hard drive to combat it, but can't afford one at the minute so would really like to solve this issue out on my laptop itself.

Memory/Storage Queries for Gaming Laptop

Hi,

I wondered if someone can advise me please.

I have a Lenovo gaming laptop (Windows 11) and am wanting to purchase a new game that requires the following:

• Memory: 16 GB RAM
  
• Storage: 85 GB available space
  

However, according to my storage settings, I only have 27.4 GB free:





I'd just like help with a few things please:

• What's the difference between 'memory' and 'storage', and how can I see how much 'memory' I have available? Sorry for the silly question, I'm not that good with technology/computers.
  
• It says I've used 26.2 GB on 'Mail', but I uninstalled the Windows Mail app months ago, so what can this be? I use the 'Outlook' app, so does this count, and would deleting the app and using Outlook via my internet browser rather than the app free up some space?
  
• Overall, by adding up the total of the GB used for each section in the screenshot above I've used up approx. 155.28 GB of storage space, however it says I've used a total 209 GB, which is a difference of 53.72 GB. I'm a bit confused - am I missing something obvious? Can anyone clarify where this extra 53.72 GB is coming from or how I can find out more?
  

Any advice would be really appreciated as I would really like to be able to continue gaming on this laptop, however at the moment until I sort out exactly what's taking up so much storage/memory it seems unlikely.

Only 923 MB out of 4 GB RAM showing on Windows 10 HP laptop

I have Windows 10 32-bit installed on my laptop (HP Pavilion G7) with a single 4 GB stick of RAM. But the system only reports 932 MB of memory. I have tried removing the module and putting it back.
