  1. iGPU inaccessible whilst CSM is on in BIOS

I've found I can only boot into Windows 11 if I have CSM Legacy Boot on, otherwise I get a hanging black screen. Also if I have CSM on - I can boot into BIOS, however iGPU is inaccessible!Tbh, I would rather have a UEFI boot, but as stated, if I set it to that ¹I can't boot into Windows, and ²I can't access the BIOS!...so might have to settle for some way to keep CSM enabled whilst finding some way to get the iGPU multi-monitor setting appear in the BIOS.Assistance required please.

    :)

  3. Why cant I cant disable csm even though I have gpt on?

Thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

    Please try these steps:

    1. Check BIOS Version and Update if Necessary: A BIOS update can sometimes resolve issues with settings not being saved or applied correctly. Check your motherboard manufacturer's website for any BIOS updates that might address this issue.
    2. Ensure GPT Partition Style: Since Secure Boot usually requires the disk to be in GPT format and the system to boot in UEFI mode, ensure your disk is indeed using GPT. You mentioned having a GPT disk, but it's worth double-checking. Tools like Disk Management in Windows or the diskpart utility can confirm this.
    3. Disable CSM Correctly: Depending on your motherboard, the process to disable CSM might vary. Ensure you're following the correct steps for your specific motherboard model. Sometimes, other settings in the BIOS need to be adjusted before CSM can be disabled.

Please do let me know if the method I suggested works for you or if you need further assistance.

  4. iGPU inaccessible whilst CSM is on in BIOS

Cannot force game to use iGPU even after changing setting

Thank you very much for reaching out! As an Independent Advisor and fellow Microsoft user, I'm more than happy to assist you.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Restart your computer after changing the graphics settings for the application. Sometimes the new settings don't take effect until after a restart
    2. Ensure that both your graphics drivers and Windows are fully updated. Sometimes, driver updates can resolve issues with GPU selection
    3. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings:
      • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2 or Delete during boot).
      • Look for settings related to graphics or GPU. Ensure that the iGPU is enabled and set as the primary GPU if possible.
    4. Check if there is a setting in the Intel Graphics Command Center or Dell Power Manager software to force the use of the iGPU. Some laptop manufacturers provide utilities to override Windows' GPU selection.
    5. As a last resort, you can temporarily disable the dGPU (Intel Iris Xe MAX Graphics) from Device Manager. This will force Windows to use the iGPU, but may impact performance for GPU-accelerated applications.
If none of these steps work, there may be an issue with the GPU drivers or Windows is not properly detecting/handling the dual GPU configuration on your laptop. In that case, you may need to contact Dell support for further assistance.

Please feel free to reach out if you require any additional assistance. I'm here to help!
