Windows 10: IIS 10 "Enable Logging Only Mode" in Dynamic IP Restrictions Settings page

Hello, We would like to review the dynamic IP restriction settings before implementing it. I came across Enable Logging only mode in dynamic IP restrictions settings. Does enabling it only will give me logs or do i still need to check "Deny IP address based on the number of concurrent requests" or the other option?

How to Enable IIS on Windows 10 Instantly?

I'm trying to enable
IIS on Windows 10 system. I followed the instructions exactly as mentioned in the official MS tutorial pages and external pages.

Here are the steps that I followed:

• Open RUN window
• I Entered the following command "appwiz.cpl" & hit the Entered button.
• Then, Opened the option "Turn Windows features on or off"
• In that, scrolled down and Enabled the "Internet Information Services" option.

• I clicked the OK button to complete the enabling process.

When I open the browser and entered the address "localhost" it still shows that the IIS is not enabled. I attached the error screenshot.





I referred to many external websites, everyone refers to the above steps only. Is there anything else that I need to enable along with IIS. Kindly help me out.

Mobile Broadband Dynamic Ip

From the description provided, I understand that you want to assign an IP address instead of the Dynamic configuration.

Please follow the below suggested steps and check if it helps.

• Right click on Start Menu to open the Power User menu and select Control Panel.
• Choose Network and Internet and click on Network Sharing Center.
• Select Change Adapter settings from the left pane.
• Right-click on the network adapter you want to assign an IP address and click Properties.
• Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) then click the Properties button.
• Now change the IP, Subnet mask, Default Gateway, and DNS Server Addresses. When you’re finished click OK.
• You’ll need to close out of Local Area Connection Properties for the settings to go into effect.

Open the Command Prompt and type ipconfig to verify if the changes were successful.

can not log in on home page

I understand your concern that you are unable to log-in to your desktop, we will help you to resolve this issue.

I would like to inform that this issue might be due to corrupted user account.

I suggest you to enter in to safe mode, enable built-in administrator account and troubleshoot the existing user account. Please follow the below troubleshooting steps:

Step 1: Start computer in safe mode.

• Type Settings in the search box on the desktop, select
  Settings.
• Here select Change pc settings and then General.
• Scroll down to Advanced startup, click Restart now.
• Click on Troubleshoot, Advanced options, and Startup Settings.
• Click Restart, select Safe mode and then press
  Enter.

Step 2: Try to login to your temporary user account, enable built-in administrator account and try to troubleshoot the corrupted user account.

• Press Windows + X key together on your desktop screen.
• Click on Command Prompt (admin) to open Command Prompt.
• Type the following command and hit Enter:
  • net user administrator /active: yes (Check for the spaces)
• Now log off from the current user and try to login to the administrator account that is enabled.
  

Note: Please follow the same steps and type net user administrator /active: no to disable admin account after the troubleshooting is done.
