    User profiles list three, 1 defaultprofile using 2.59mb, 2 IIS APPPOOL\DefaultAppPool using 11.0mb , 3 KENNETH-HP\kenneth using 48.1gb

    User profiles list three, 1 defaultprofile using 2.59mb, 2, IIS APPPOOL\DefaultAppPool using 11.0mb , 3 KENNETH-HP\kenneth using 48.1gb.

    IIS APPPOOL\DefaultAppPool shows on only one device, an hp laptop upgraded from win7.

    Why does it show only on this computer and may be the issue why 9-12-2017 KB4038788 keeps failing to install from WU or standalone.

    Have done the online health and online restore health but did not work.

    The only pc that got win10 upgrade from win7.

    Let IIS AppPool shut down computer from web

    I am trying to let the local computer be shut down through the web service hosted by IIS.

    I have an IIS AppPool called "Foobar", so its full string would be "IIS AppPool\Foobar". This Application Pool currently runs under the Identity "LocalSystem".
    When I shut down the computer by calling bool ExitWindowsEx(int flags, int reason); (for example, ExitWindowsEx(EWX_SHUTDOWN, 0)) in ASP.NET code, Windows gives me

    However, if I change the Foobar IIS AppPool's Identity to an Administrator OS user instead of LocalSystem, it does let me shut down the computer from the web service. But I don't want to run under an Administrator OS account (yes, I know SYSTEM is also high-privileged, but it isn't letting me shut down the computer).

    Question: How can I make it so I can successfully call ExitWindowsEx from the Built-in account LocalSystem (or even the Built-in ApplicationPoolIdentity), instead of using an OS user identity?

    I have tried:

    1. Editing the local policy:
      In Local Security Policy, both SYSTEM and "IIS APPPOOL\Foobar" can "Shut down the system", and "Force shutdown from a remote system"
    2. Using ntrights

      ntrights -u "IIS AppPool\Foobar" +r SeRemoteShutdownPrivilege

    and ntrights -u "IIS AppPool\Foobar" +r SeShutdownPrivilege

    Neither make error 1314 go away.
