Windows 10: I’m 30 day locked out of my account due to 2FA issue

I had to reinstall ms win 11. I forgot my Microsoft password and am locked out of my account because of 2FA, I setup 2FA, but for some reason the text message doesn’t work for the second authentication..The phone number is correct and I check verified short codes and no blocking of texts with Verizon. So, I initiated account recovery using the 25 digit key to another email and now have to wait 30 days! No support for home users! I can’t even download the Microsoft office on my laptop that I paid for until this gets resolved. I can’t restore my OneDrive folders. I’m dead in the water. Any su

Grandparents Account Locked 2FA set to Landline

Good morning,

My grandparents have locked the Microsoft account and are unable to receive the 2FA code. Apparently they got confused when setting 2FA and entered their landline which can't receive text messages. I'm not seeing any other option to send the code to their email for verification.

Account recovery seems to be denied because 2FA was enabled. What next steps can we take?

thanks again for the detailed replies. - - - Updated - - - i'm a bit confused about the bitwarden site, Field Guide to Two-Step Login | Bitwarden Help Center they suggest using Authy themselves, lol, but it seems to suggest the 2FA 6-digit code is only available on their mobile app? or do they mean you just need it on the phone to scan the QR?

Why is this system so complicated and so difficult to use. The system suggested I check my account details when logging into my Outlook account and so, like an idiot i did. Now, it has stopped me checking any of my account details for 30 days - WHY? After
going round in circles trying to find the right suggested answers to my question (I'd like to actually talk to someone as oppose to converse with an idiotic server somewhere in lack-of-commonsenseland) I finally found an option to cancel the suggested secondary
email address but, to do this, it has to send an email to my old secondary email address i.e. one I do not have access to. Bloody useless and a waste of my time as the whole point is.......I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO MY SECONDARY EMAIL ADDRESS. I suppose I'll
now have to wait 30 days to see if it locks me out for another 30 days and so on and so on. Rant over, it will soon be Christmas. Any way around this?
