  1. I'm constantly being asked to change an email password to an account that belonged to...

I am constantly getting asked to change a password to an account that is linked to my account or an individual account on my MS account. I have followed all the suggestions offered on MS help page as well as everything I could find online. It is not listed in my account anywhere and there are no options to remove anything as I cannot find it. I have tried t accounts-settings etc...nothing there. Regedit.exe....nothing there. I have deleted my microsoft account and opened a new one but this takes 60 days to become fully terminate. I continue to get these alerts and on an occasion or two has blocked me from using my computer and had to do a hard shut down in order to get back on. I don't know how to remove that account from being linked or attached to my account. It's not showing in my account anywhere.

    :)

    Unauthorized Emails from my account?

It is more than likely that your email account was hacked, either by a virus sniffing your password, or just simply hacked.

Either way, change your password on your email account. Unfortunately the damage by already be done. They already have your contact list and your email address associated with that contact list. There is nothing stopping them from sending out emails using their own SMTP servers to everyone on your contact list and claiming the emails are from your email address. They don't actually have to have access to your yahoo account or even any yahoo server to send emails to people that come from your address.

  3. email account hacked. please help

Also may I suggest you change email accounts to one of the following.....

    Gmail
    Outlook

The reason is they both use "Step two verification". This style of verification means even if a hacker gets your password they cannot log in to your account. You see every time someone try's to log in that hasn't been verified you will get a text or a phone call giving you a final code to log in. Its very easy and simple to setup also. The great thing is once you setup your Email application with a specific "application password" from that account you never have to log in again AND your account is protected from being logged in from foreign entities.

I like the new outlook personally however Gmail is also damn good. Gmail also has an IP tracker that allows you to see WHERE the account has been logged in from. Anyway let us know if you wanna change over and have any questions. We will be happy to help and welcome to TPU!

    email constantly requires password

    Hello Steve:

Thank you for posting to the forum regarding your email question. I can certainly see how being required to enter your password every time you access your email would be a bit cumbersome.

As you have mentioned a recent change to the email protocol being used, i would first suggest you remove and reenter the account on the phone. This article can be used as a guide to add the account,

    http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/How-to/wp7/people/set-up-an-email-account
. I would suggest following the steps for adding an account manually. Once you have added the account back to the phone, please reboot the phone and try accessing your email again.

If the issue continues, provide the following details:

    • What is the current OS version running on your phone, tap settings > about > more info.?
    • What type of email account is this, an Outlook Exchange, local Outlook, other email account (specify the domain)?
    • Who is your ISP?
    • When you go to settings > emails + accounts > do you see any error messages or codes next to the email account?
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
