  1. I'm currently dealing with file errors

For some reason, whenever i move images of any type to a removable drive, be it a flash drive or SD card, after a while, the file will be unable to open, as if it gets corrupted, i have scanned my computer for viruses, using Norton and Windows defender and i have looked around to see if anyone have the same problems but to no avail. The other problem is that when i make folders on removable storage devices, the folder will say that nothing is there and it would be as if absolutely nothing was there to begin with.

"Copy, But Keep Both Name" missing on Windows 10

That's going to be a lot of fun when I'm copying a few thousand files. A wonder how many it takes before the dialog crashes?

Why doesn't MS get the fact that we are not always dealing with a few to a few dozen files? We deal with tens or even hundreds of thousands of files these days and the interface has to work efficiently in that situation. I'm currently working on a task that
    involves over a million files.

My computer randomly stops recognizing my 2nd hard drive

Update: After trying everything here and spending 3-4 hours with Windows support, I've pretty much given up trying to get this fixed. I was told there was a file corruption that happened during the install and was a known problem with no current fix. I'm
not sure if that's really the case or not, but I guess I'll just deal with it until the next big Windows update and hope they get it fixed. My patience is shot and I'm too frustrated with it to deal with it right now.

Please open the Command Prompt by typing cmd.exe into Start Menu, right-click on Cmd.exe, and open it as an administrator.

Execute following command for your removable storage devices and where images are stored.

    Code: Chkdsk X: /r[/quote]

Press the Win key+S. In the Search Box type CMD, Right click the CMD results and Run As Administrator.
In the Elevated Command Prompt type the drive letter of the External Drive (ie) G: and press enter (ie) G:\> at this prompt type chkdsk /R and press enter. This will check the integrity of the external drive and check if there are any bad sectors on the drive and try to "Fix" them. It may take a while.

Are you trying to run Both Norton and Win Defender at the same time ?? Try removing Norton and see if You still have the problem. Also which Win 10 build ?

  7. I'm not sure if that helped, it looked like it just checked to see if the space was there, and this problem has been going on long before i had downloaded Norton. the problem is with any device i insert into the laptop, it happened with my flash drive, and my memory card. And its worse now because now, whenever i download images offline, after a bit of time, the thumbnails for the images show the default image thumbnails and when i try to view the image, it will say "we can't open this file" even though i had opened it before. and the folder thing is still a problem, its like every image placed on any removable device gets either corrupted or for some reason, not downloaded or copied properly.

Make sure to install all latest device drivers from your computer manufacturer website.

    1. Disconnect flash drives and memory cards.

    2. Type Devmgmt.msc into Start Menu and expand Disk drives and click View from menu bar and select Show hidden devices.

    3. Right click one at time all the USB flash drives and memory cards and select Uninstall, if you get a option to delete drivers from the driver store select the check mark.

    4. Now you can reconnect your USB flash drives and memory cards to see new installed drivers resolve the issue.
