I’m doing a System Restore on my Windows 11 computer. It’s been running about 5 hours now. The computer does automatically goes to sleep the screen goes black and wakes up when I move the mouse. Does going to sleep affect the amount of time this is taking? Should it take this long?

    :)

  2. System restore running for hours

My computer running Windows 10 suddenly seemed to have no connection to the speakers in my computer and the drivers were MIA. Decided to run a system restore to see if that would fix and it’s been running for 8 hours. I need to use the computer. What
    do i do?

Windows system restore - taking 2 hours plus ?

Tried a system restore on 2 occasions today.

First session ran for over 2hrs with the screen saying "Please wait while etc etc".

Read that if runs more than an hour it may be frozen and suggests a hard reset of the device.

The second session is doing the same restoring for 2 hours plus.

Is this expected or an error/fault somewhere on the system causing it run more than an hour etc.

Windows update loop already 5 hours

    Hi Drew,

We would like to know what troubleshooting steps have you done so far. Have you tried performing a system restore? If not, we suggest performing it using the steps below:

    • Perform a hard reset (turning on and off the PC) by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds.
    • While booting, turn off the computer when you see the
      Windows logo
. Do it for at least three times.
    • After third time, Recovery screen should show up.
    • Select Advanced options.
    • Click System Restore. Choose the restore point where the issue did not exist.
(Note: This will remove recently installed apps, drivers, and updates that might be causing your PC problems, but it won’t affect your personal files.)

We look forward to your response.
