Hello! I will openly tell you about the strange and unusual events I experienced in Windows 11. 1- In my Windows 11, all of the winsxs and repair commands are broken. Why? The command run to delete unnecessary files completely broke the infrastructure and mechanism of winsxs. 2- In my Windows 11, sometimes, not officially, I get a BSOD screen. Here's the thing: Day one -> I tried to install KB updates manually on the computer. But I failed. Then I got a BSOD while shutting down. The short stop code is: 0x000a003 and the long and clear stop code is: 0x00000000C000A003 You can say "This i

    Inexplicable restarts

Thanks for your patient help and analysis, zbook. I'll step through some of your suggestions over the next few days - there's a lot to do and some look a bit hairy! That is, for a PC that is working sweetly right now...

Meanwhile, as requested in the BSOD thread (sorry, I misunderstood and posted there by mistake), I've attached both ZIP files.
    --------------------
One step I did try right away was to answer your question about whether my BIOS is up-to-date. I had no success at the AMI site but did get some info from this commercial site:

It was one of the '9' (I counted 10) listed here:

Windows 11 BSOD During Setup on M.2 SSD

I think I found the fix. As mentioned, I did upgrade my PSU, but I kind of doubt that was the actual fix. I did find a setting in the UEFI options though which was set to PEG for PCIe graphics instead of IGD for integrated graphics. I can't say for sure if I changed that accidentally at some point, or if it was always PEG. I also can't say for sure which of the two fixed it for me, but I can confirm I have Windows 11 installed from the same thumb drive, to my Kingston KC3000 1TB M.2 SSD. I have run Windows update and installed a few programs. Zero BSOD.

    • Installed a new PSU. My old power supply was 11 years old. Upgraded to a Corsair RM650x.
    • Checked UEFI settings and in the Graphics settings, I found an option for IGD/PEG which was set to PEG. I changed this to IGD.
Hope this helps! Thanks everyone for the input. Not sure why the PEG setting might cause the BSOD, but perhaps because the M.2 share the PCIe bus, whereas the SATA SSD do not?

    Getting BSOD 0x124 error

    Ignore what everone said here.

0x124 BSOD is usually related to VCCIO (VTT), run Prime95 version 26.6 with custom sizes of 512K to 640K with 50% of your memory for at least 8 hours.

If you get a 0x124 BSOD, increase VCCIO voltage by small steps, run Prime95 again until your stable.

If you pass Prime95 512K to 640K without a BSOD, then its Vcore too low. I'd suggest running IntelBurnTest with 80% of your memory to verify stability (8 to 12 hours).

Oh, and yeah, if this problem appeared all of the sudden, the reason is CPU degradation, you can prevent it by enabling C-States or adjust your overclock to use lower voltages.
