As the title says, I'm going to reset my laptop because i might have messed up and did something i shouldn't have, i clicked on a link and steam started going crazy, sending messages similar to the link i got, blocking and unfriending people.

I did all the necessary stuff, uninstalled steam, changed password and deauthorized all other devices, changed my email password and added 2 step authentication, ran malwarebytes AND windows defender.

So now i plan to reset my pc as a last security measure, my question is, should i clean the drive? Does it make anything safer?

It's an SSD if that matters.

I'm going to reset my pc and remove everything, should i clean the drive, as i am worried...

    DVD Drive issues.

The games used to run, now apparently the disks don't even read.

Go to Device Manager and remove the DVD
Scan for hardware changes and update driver as OS suggests

    Still not working?

    1) Clean the heads.
    2) Run a diagnostic program on the drive.

Nothing else has changed about your system aside from the OS?

Revert to XP Home, assuming you don't find the source of the problem in steps above.

I'm about to get 1803 -Should I be worried?: I have read many, many problems encountered by users after 1803 was applied to their system. In fact there are web sites devoted to 'common problems after installing v1803' I can see mine will be applied when I next re-start. Should I be concerned? Your thoughts? 110574
