Windows 10: I’m having artifacting issues in just two games. Is my GPU defective?

Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XpTZNc I’m getting some strange graphics bugs in Rage 2 with a 6800 XT. I have the latest Windows 10 version, the latest GPU drivers, and the latest chipset drivers from my ASUS TUF GAMING B650 site: Is my GPU defective? This is only happening in this one game. I’m seeing another issue, black squares, in Ashes of the Singularity too, but i watched several videos with different gpus that mostly had the same problem. Here’s one example from someone else since I’m getting 100% CPU usage even though I wasn’t with the 6950XT I

Strange artifacting issue


I’ve a weird issue and I’m not quite sure where to post this…

I purchased a new video card back in early August. A day later the card started artifacting (see my video there). At any rate I wound up RMAing the card and all was good until now… the new card is doing the same thing.

Here’s the strange thing though… The card only artifacts while I’m on the internet. I can game and benchmark for hours and the card won’t artifact, overheat or anything else. In other words the only issue I have with this card is it occasionally aartifacts while browsing the internet. Key info….

• Window 10 Pro RTM
• Sapphire Tri-X R9 Fury
• Catalyst Drivers 15.7.1
• Internet explorer 11
• EVGA Super Nova 1000 G2 (1000 watt)
• Games played - Dragon Age: Inquisition, Skyrim, Deus Ex: Human Revolution (high settings)

My system specs are listed.

Anyway I’m not sure if this a driver, card, OS, or PS issue. I do know the only time it happens is while browsing the internet.

Anyway thoughts, suggestions, theories?

B(lack)SOD after closing GPU demanding applications and games

I would like to suggest 2 more things if you don't mind,
1. Seat the GPU in another slot, if possible, and see if that helps anything
2. Use the GPU in another system, if possible, this is a step to determine that it is really the GPU and not multiple defective slots or something else from the system.

 

having issues with multi GPU

I’m trying to offload certain apps to my iGPU on the second screen, using the new graphics settings in the recent win 10 release. the issue is it’s only showing my 1070. lists it as both power saving GPU, and
high performance GPU.

I’ve been fiddling for a while now with no joy, and i’m really hoping one of you guys has an idea they can suggest to sort this!

I can extend onto the second screen no probs with it plugged into the iGPU, but the 1070 is still listed as both power saving GPU and high performance GPU.

Are there requirements for this? certain level of iGPU for it to work?

Edit - setting the secondary screen connected to the iGPU to be the "main" display in graphics settings makes my iGPU show as both power saving and high performance GPU, I just can't seem to get them
to be one and not the other.
