Windows 98 Product key on Windows 10?

Hi,

It will not be accepted as a valid product key and it will not activate your Windows 10 license. The Windows 98 product key is for a Windows 98 license only. If you try to insert it on Windows 10, it will only be refuse as a valid product key.

If you want to activate your Windows 10 license, you need to buy a proper Windows 10 Product key (I suggest you to get one from Microsoft Store, that's the safest way).

The Windows 98 product key will be accepted if you install a Windows 98 OS on another device or another partition of your Pc, but can't be used to activate Windows 10.

Ok so during Thanksgiving I found an unopened copy of Windows 98 with a installation disc and Product key at my grandparents. I got a PC at home(at school right now using the schools chromebook) and it has Windows 10 installed without a product key. What
would happen if I used my Windows 98 product key on my Windows 10? Will it just activate? Will it uninstall Windows 10 and install windows 98? Will it screw over my system like frying parts? I want to try it out but the last thing I want is to ruin my PC which
I spent lots of time and money making.
