Windows 10: I’m missing 4 core but now it shows 2

I was watching a YouTube videos showing how to get more performance while gaming he went to system configuration and went to the advance settings and changed the number I also did the same when I booted my pc back up I realized I was missing core and it was actually being little slow so I went back to system configuration and put it back how it was at 1 restarted again went back and the opinions got shorter I also factory reset two times didn’t work and restarted the bio from the mother board didn’t work either did I damage the cpu do I have to buy a new one did I break the motherboard please

core unparking

I have a I5 7600 4 core cpu everything in the system is show 4 cores but there parked, I have the software for unparking them but when I use that it only shows 2 cores and that they are unparked but in the task window in performance it show all 4 cores
and that they are parked? so I'm not sure which is right and which is wrong since the program to unpark the cores is only showing 2 cores and not seeing the other 2 cores, but in the registry which is where it's looking all 4 cores are listed there. So my
main question then is there a place in the registry that you can change the cores to unpark them?

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Windows 10 missing processor cores.

I am replying to this post because it is the number 1 search result on missing cores, and it might help someone.

My 4 core q66oo was showing up only as 2 cores even after doing ALL of the other tricks, including adding registry entries for core 2 and 3. The instant I loaded "optimized defaults" in the Bios and booted the 4 cores showed up in task manager/performance.
Motherboard: ASRock P43Twins1600. All old, but plenty fast hardware for what I do. I found the answer in a Vista thread.
