Windows 10: I'm missing file types when I try to download a file

Hello,I'm trying to download a report and something has changed overnight. I'm prompted with only two options, other files' or ,Microsoft Excel 97-2003 Worksheet.Once I download it and open the file I'm prompted with the message by Excel. It says that the file was downloaded in the wrong type.It changed overnight. I used to be able to see more download options. I tried different browsers and different platforms. I also re-installed Microsoft Office 365 but it did not help. I just want to see more options for downloading and downloading it as an excel workbook file type.Is there any setting t

Downloaded files disappear


When you download a file through any browser, there's an option somewhere to 'Open Containing Folder.'

In Windows, to find a file you have downloaded...

1. Open your personal folder by clicking the Start button and then clicking your user name at the top of the Start menu's right pane.
   
2. Double-click one of the following folders:
   
   • Downloads
     
   • Documents
     
   • Pictures
     
   • Videos
     
   • Music

If you do not see the file you are looking for, but know its file name, you can search for it by following these steps:
To search for a file you have downloaded...

1. Click the Start button
   
2. Type all or part of the file name into the Search box.
   The file you are looking for will appear in the list of results.

 

making file lists

the command f did get some files but not all of them? any idea why?

i used the command h:/tree /f films

and it gave me a a list of files from M to Z

 

opening .dds files with gimp

Simply, HOW? I got the DDS plugin but the POS wont open DDS files still. Can someone give me a step-by-step rundown of how to install the DDS plugin for gimp so I know if I'm missing something?
