Windows 10: I'm moving into a new laptop that is already pre installed with windows.

I was wondering will my old laptop still be activated if I do a reset with a Windows installer media In a usb? I'm gonna be giving it to a family member

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Here's what you do. First, just put the drive in the new laptop. If it boots great, if it doesn't move on to step two.

2. Put it back in the old machine. Uninstall all the drivers you can. Put back in new laptop, try to boot.

3 Sysprep will likely not work for you.

4. Is the windows 7 a retail copy or an OEM? Because if it's OEM the license will not likely transfer over to the new machine anyway. If you have both a retail windows 7 and retail upgrade, then yes you can format the drive and install W7 then upgrade again.

 

Moving Windows 10 Pro License to new Laptop with Home pre-installed?

I have new laptop with Windows 10 Home installed by the factory.

The laptop being decommissioned has Windows 10 Pro installed.

How can I move the license to the new system?
