Monitor is detected but display resolution is not correct

    One of two possibilities:

    1. Driver is still not correct, as you don't have the listed resolution to go to recommended for that monitor. If it is using a driver win 10 installed and not the manufacturer, then you need to try the manufacturer driver, list the display driver from device manager and we can go from there.

    2. Card in PC (Is it a card, or integrated mainboard graphics?) doesn't support that resolution, hence driver not listing it, etc.

Other possibility - what does the system show for the monitor listed in device manager?

  3. Display resolution not correct

I have just installed Win 10. over 8.1. Had a few bugs but was able to get them worked out except one. I have an INSIGNIA tv as my main monitor. I also have an ASUS high resolution 17" monitor for my 2nd display. It displays as it did with 8.1. The
insignia is set for 1080 pixel but the display is too large and only half of the icons in the task bar will be displayed. I cannot run the windows in full screen mode. My drivers for my graphics card and up to date, everything seems correct and settings
are showing 1080 for this display, it is just too large for the screen. Looking at the Hardware list it said this display (insignia) did not migrate. Does this mean it is not compatible with Win 10. Is there something I can do or do I need to go back to
    8.1 Pro???

Windows 10 Display No Longer Showing Correct Monitor Resolution

My wife's old PC, Dell 570, which was converted from Win7 to Win10 in 2015 is no longer displaying the correct resolution. The PC is using the integrated ATI Radeon HD 4200 display adapter. The Device Manager says that the driver is up to date.

The monitor is 1600x900 and upon reboot, Windows flashes 1600x900 as optimum resolution.

It was correct until a few weeks ago, when it suddenly started displaying a much lower resolution, 1024x768, and I have not found a way to get it back to displaying 1600x900. Display Settings only has 1024x768 (recommended) and 800x600 options.

This change occurred on Thanksgiving evening, and the Device Manager Event log showed an entry at about that time (no longer showing, as history does not go back that far). The Device Manager Event log is showing the following:

    Device installed (c0317758.inf)
