I've been given a task at work to find various licenses for specific versions of Windows products, for example:

• Microsoft Office 2021 version 2108
  
• Windows 11 22h2
  
• etc
  

I used Copilot which suggested that there might be a difference between the sub versions for Windows 11.

Do you know if Microsoft keep a repository of licenses and their associated software versions for their products?

Dynamic disks are the problem, Windows 11 22H2 and 23H2 setup won't run if the OS is installed on a dynamic disk.

There is a work around by copying install.wim from 22H2 ISO to 21H1 ISO. Now you can install 22H2..

Option 1:

A workaround is to use setup.exe from the 21H2 ISO but point it to 23H2 WIM. That might work, but there are no guarantees that it will prevent the 0x80070032 error.

Option 2:

The proper solution is to backup your data to an external drive and convert the disk (where the OS is installed) from dynamic to basic.

Alternatively, the EaseUS premium version or a similar 3rd party program can be used to convert the disk without data loss.

 

Windows 11 version 22H2 Install error - 0x800700a1

Yes, I have run all of the troubleshooting ideas but none of them changed anything.

I downloaded a new version of the Media Creation Tool. These were the steps it showed on the screen after running the ISO:

1. Getting updates
   
2. Making sure you're ready to install
   
3. Ready to install
   

Within 10 seconds of clicking "install", I get the error message: "Windows 11 installation has failed". I don't know where to find a log that will give more information. What else can I try?

When checking on something else, within Control Panel I looked at "System Information" and I saw hat it shows "Windows 11 Pro version 21H2". My udpate is trying to install version 22H2. Is that a problem?
