I'm running Windows 11. Random shortcut icons in Windows 11 default to what looks like a blank sheet of paper icon when you drag them from the All Programs list to the desktop. Why is this happening and how can I fix this behavior?I got a question regarding a behavior in Windows 11 that I don't like. If your answer requires complicated steps that lead into the registry, or requires deleting and recreating Admin profiles in Windows 11, please don't bother, I'm a newbie. I won't risk attempting to follow unclear step by step instructions. Keep them simple and concise if offered.On the other

Windows 11 Shortcut Icons Not Differentiated

I am setting up a new Windows 11 laptop and have put shortcuts to the files and folders I use most on the desktop. No problem. However, their icons no longer have any indication that they are shortcuts. If I create a new folder on the desktop, its icon looks *exactly* like the icon that is a shortcut. It's pretty important to me to know at a glance what is a shortcut to a folder and what is a folder itself. Why has this changed and how do I fix it? Thank you. -Erika

Xbox games icons break when moved, Windows 11

I tried the above steps with the same result, moving the icon would break it.

Recreating a shortcut in windows 11 has changed? Right click does not give the option, only pin to start or taskbar. You cant right click drag and create shortcut from start anymore either. Also being Xbox games, the exe in the game folder does not have the icon. Like I said, these seem to be some kind of web link shortcut. Not a standard shortcut.

This was a fresh install, default everything. I did end up downloading Windows 11 MCT again and reinstalling windows 11 to try and resolve....but.

While this temporality repaired all icons, moving them back to the desktop results in the same thing, its like these icons where made incorrectly by the Xbox software.
