Windows 10: I’m stuck on the sign-in screen, and can’t add any pins or use our old ones.

I was trying to unsuspend a program in Task Manager, and I read that I needed to open msconfig. I did that and it told me to press the “Disable All” button on the Services tab. It told me to restart and now I can’t sign in to any of my profiles. Every single profile says “Something happened and your PIN isn’t available. Click to set up your PIN again.” But when I click the “Set up my PIN” button it loads for a second and then stops. Then it tells me to search for an app in the Store, but when I press Yes nothing happens. Please help because none of my profiles can sign-in!

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.

Since recent update KB3200970 I cannot use nor setup a PIN to sign in and MS Office2016 disappeared

Thank you for the update. We suggest for you to reset the login PIN. Here are the steps:

• Click on the Start Menu and select settings.
• Now select Accounts.
• Next select the tab Sign-in option.
• Click on I Forget the PIN and follow the on screen instructions.

Update us with the result.

 

Sign in asking for a PIN when I don't have one

When I try sign to sign into Microsoft store, I login, put in my password, it then asks me to put in a PIN, although I have never set one up before.

When I go here it is for a different account, So this method does not work.

Edit: when I click forgot my PIN it just tells me the exact same thing as above
