Windows 10: I'm trying to install Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime - 8.0.3 x64 but keep getting Error...

The error code is "0x80070652 - Another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install." I have opened the log file and and found theses three errors that might be the problem.Error 0x80070652: Failed to run maintanance mode for MSI package.Error 0x80070652: Failed to execute MSI package.Error 0x80070652: Failed to configure per-machine MSI package.I don't know much about any of this so any help would be useful.

Anyone had this error installing any old games? 1607: Unable to install installshield scripting runtime error

The game is COD 2 and am running Windows 10 x64.... am sure I have installed this on a previous Windows 10 build, tried a quick google though it's throwing up a load of old threads related to Windows XP

Thanks, I did everything mentioned in Method 8 in Fix: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error In Windows - Appuals.com including running as admin, and in the end it stopped at the last step, unable to install the latest one, for x64. So I'm getting exactly the same error message...
