Windows 10: I'm trying to run a 16-bit program PLUVUEII on a 64-bit computer and can't seem to get it...

The program is PLUVUEII and you can download it here: Air Quality Dispersion Modeling - Alternative Models US EPAI tried wineVDM from here: Releases · otya128/winevdm github.com based on some youtube videos I watched. However, PLUVUEII requires the command prompt to run and has multiple executables. I tried running it and got a SEGV error, whatever that is. Any suggestions?

32 bit program running on 64 bit computer

Hi,

There should be no problem running a 32 bit program on a 64 bit machine...

You may need to right click on the programs installer or Application\.exe file and set it's compatibility mode... Just select properties and you will see it.

One potential problem... Windows 8 and higher x64 will not run a 16 bit program...

So even though your Adobe Type Twister runs on 32 bit machines, it may be a 16 bit program that is now basically useless on the newer 64 bit OS's...

I know nothing about this program, and have not been able to find much about it, but my guess based on it's age is that it is 16 bit...

For 64-bit versions of Windows 7 or 10, you'll have to run your 16-bit programs in an emulator or virtual machine.
DOSBox may work for you. See, e.g.,

If you have a licensed copy of Windows XP, you could install that in a virtual machine with either Windows 7 or Windows 10 as the host.
