Discus and support I'm trying to run the command "sfc /scannow /offbootdir=E:\ /offwindir=E:\Windows" in CMD... in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; I'm trying to factory reset my PC but I ran into an error.     I'm trying to run the command "sfc /scannow /offbootdir=E:\ /offwindir=E:\Windows" in CMD...


    I'm trying to factory reset my PC but I ran into an error. So I was told to run "sfc /scannow /offbootdir=E:\ /offwindir=E:\Windows" in CMD prompt. But all I get is this error message "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.". I have done the following



    -DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth


    -reagentc /disable

    reagentc /enable

    -Windows Modules Installer set to auto, then sfc /scannow


    -CMD prompt is on admin-I do restart my PC after making changes







    Help!

    Im trying to make this command: sfc /scannow /offbootdir=C:\ /offwindir=C:\windows but it doesnt work!

    The title is wrong. I used this: C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows

    Not running cmd

    It looks like your system is corrupted. I recommend you try this:

    1. Tap F8 at boot time to boot the machine into Repair Mode.
    2. Find out where Windows is installed, using these commands:

      dir C:\

      dir D:\

      dir E:\

      dir F:

      I shall assume it is drive E:. It cannot be drive X:.
    3. Type this command and press Enter:

      sfc /ScanNow /OffWinDir=E:\Windows

    especificado aponta para o sistema online.
