    when i try to scan from my desktop like i always have before. now i just started getting an error message saying i need a WIA driver


    (windows pro 10 64 bit) )

    Printer is a Brother MFC-J485DW)

    WIA driver error message; unable to scan from Samsung C480FW

    Overnight I lost the ability to scan from Samsung C480FW to Dell Inspiron 3543 computer running Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit OS.

    I tried a repair, it failed. I uninstalled the printer/scanner and reinstalled all and networked printer/scanner to PC. Dowloaded and installed all available drivers, including scan driver C48x_Series_WIN_Scanner_V3.31.81.01.10_CDV1.20 (1).

    Still cannot scan. I get this error message: "You need a WIA driver to use this device. Please install it and try again."

    Any suggestions??????

    WIA Driver error Mesage

    My scanner has stopped working and I'm getting an error message about WIA driver. It was fine a couple of days ago.

    I have followed the following instructions, but still not working; same error message.

    "Check if the service is running by following the steps below:



    • Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type Services and select the top most search result.
    • Locate Windows Image Acquisition services and check if the
      status shows running in the window.
    • If the status space is empty, it means the service is not running. I suggest you to start the service by highlighting the service and clicking on the
      Start service icon located on the menu bar at the top of the window.
    • Close the window and check if the changes are effective"
