Windows 10: I'm trying to set a custom file as my alarm sound, but I don't have permissions in the...

I saw an old thread from 2016, but Windows 10 has changed since then and that old answer doesn't work anymore. I'm trying to set a .WAV file as my alarm, but I can't access my media folder C:/Windows/Media.It saysestination Folder Access DeniedYou need permission to perform this action.I think I've already set my user as the owner of this folder, but it still says I need permissions.

Ringtone maker - setting alarm sounds

I updated my Lumia 800 to the latest Windows Phone 7.8 software yesterday. I then downloaded the new Ringtone Maker app from the Nokia Collection. No problem. The steps to create custom ringtone were intuitive, and worked.



After I saved a custom ringtone, there was a screen message - "Tip - custom ringtones can be used for your alarm sounds too." So I created a custom tone to use as message / email alarm.



When I go into "Settings" on my Lumia 800, the custom tones I created show when setting the phone's ringtone, and the new ringtone works fine. However, when trying to set a custom ringtone as message / email alarms, I don't get the option to access the custom
ringtones.



Does the app really support creating custom tones for alarm sounds? Or have I missed something? Any advice?

• [unplugged] - let's wp7 alarm for 3-4 times. then the sound is gone, only the vibration is left working. I need to soft reset to fix the problem.
• [plugged] - seem to have no problem. the Alarm sound is increasing to maximum as it goes
• I also noticed the sound is lacking sometime. Some part of the alarm sound is missing during the alarming. It is like the alarming eating up the resource upto 100% and cannot play the alarm sound smoothly. - -" What is wrong with the alarming???

To Microsoft,

This is just a basic function of Mobile Phone. Please fix it immediately. Don't make customer to wait until Mango update to fix it. Very bad experience for users.

 

N9 Clock / Alarm looses custom sounds (MP3)

Thanks for the tip ceroberts75. I can try what you suggested, even I think that when there is already originally multiple Nokia sounds available to choose from -> one should be able to use different sounds for different alarms (wake ups during working week
and weekends for example). If it would not be possible, then Nokia would offer only one sound - Right?



There must be some bug in the software, I think, because MP3 selected from my Music is shown twice in the alarm sounds list.



Also one should be able to choose different sounds (MP3 songs) for different alarms if he chooses to do so.



But I'll try you tip and to see if it makes any difference, like selected MP3 sound stays, and won't change to "Clock 1" sound on its own...
