Windows 10: im trying to update windows 11 version 23h2 but it keps failing

Update failed: Windows 11, version 23H2

Hi,

My Surface Book 3 has been trying to update to Windows 11, version 23H2 for a couple of weeks now but the update keeps failing. The error code is 0x800f0805. I've tried a couple of solutions found in various threads but nothing has worked. I don't even remember everything I've tried at this point, but willing to start from scratch and work through the list. Any help is appreciated.

 

Update 23H2 is installed, but windows update continues to try and install it again and it continually fails

As the subject states, I'm already on version 23H2 of Windows 11 Pro. However, Windows Update does not seem to think so and keeps telling me to restart to install Windows 11, version 23H2. This install takes a long time and eventually fails and rolls back. Then I'm back to square one of it trying to install it again.

 

Windows update show 23H2 installed winver show 22H2
