I'm trying to use camera and audio, but it says to first allow camera and audio on privacy setting but it won't work?***moved from Microsoft 365 and Office / OneDrive / For education / Windows***

Audio not working on camera

Try open Settings from start and in Privacy, check for Microphone, and see whether Camera App permit to use Microphone there.

Make sure 'Allow apps to access your microphone' is turned on and make sure the appropriate app is also set to On

Go to Update & Security - Troubleshoot

Run these troubleshooters

Hardware and devices

Recording Audio

Try close all other Apps and then open a Camera and see whether it works.

Also, I suggest this method:

Method 1: Run built-in Audio Device troubleshooter, and check if the issue is resolved.

Step 1: Type Troubleshooting in the search box next to Start button, and press Enter.

Step 2: Click on View all from the left side panel of the screen.

Step 3: Select Playing Audio, click on Advanced option, and check Apply repairs automatically.

Step 4: Follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2: If the issue persist, run Recording audio troubleshooter included within Windows OS by following the steps below, and check if the issue is resolved.

Step 1: Type Troubleshooting in the search box next to Start button, and press Enter.

Step 2: Click on View all from the left side panel of the screen.

Step 3: Select Recording audio, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Audio and Camera

Hi so basically i have a windows 10 acer laptop and what happened is that the camera and when i voice record myself doesnt work

SO i went on settings to try to fix the problem and i did everthing it said my audio and camera where on but i have this app called zoom and other games that require audio.

And it doesnt let me use

Basically in the settings of audio it says connect audio to this apps and all these apps are connected to microsoft but at the end for other apps it says the setting doesn't effect these apps

i dont know how to fix my camera and audio basically it says speaker is not plugged or amd and i dont know any of this

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

This issue could be because of the driver failure issue or mic is not allowed from Windows privacy.

Before we troubleshoot there are few question we need to know, to further eliminate the root cause of the issue.

1. Are you using Windows camera app to record the video?
   
2. May I know, if the mic from the earphone is working on other computer and devices?
   
3. Have you tried with different earphones?
   
4. Is the play button grayed out for all the videos?
   
5. Have you tried playing the same video with different player?
   

Method 1:

Allow camera to use Mic from privacy settings.

1. Navigate to Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
   
2. Scroll down and search for
   Camera app from choose which apps can access your microphone.
   
3. Toggle the Camera button to ON.
   

Method 2:

If you still face the issue, you can try to
