Windows 10: I'm unable to change the country in my Microsoft account profile. I get error that it can't...

I'm unable to change the country in my profile. I get error that it can't be changed due to connected child account, but I don't have any child accounts...I have tried to get this fixed two times via Microsoft Support, they directed me here.

Marketplace complaining about country, no change to Live profile

A friend of mine all of a sudden is no longer able to access Marketplace or download apps. She gets the error "Marketplace is not available in your country/region". But she has not modifed the country in her profile at all, and in fact when I checked
her Live profile it still lists her country as US. It's very frustrating, anyone have any suggestions? Have tried calling ATT to no avail.

Steps to Change Country/Region in Microsoft Account

Remove Child Accounts from Family Group

Go to the Microsoft Family Safety page.

Ensure that all child accounts are removed from the family group. If you have already done this, double-check that there are no residual child accounts listed.

Revoke Consent for Child Accounts

Even if the child accounts are removed from the family group, you might still need to revoke parental consent for each child account.

Go to the Microsoft Account page.

Sign in with your Microsoft account.

Navigate to Family and select Manage my child's profile info.

Revoke the consent for each child account.

Check for Any Linked Child Accounts

Sometimes, child accounts might still be linked in other parts of your Microsoft account settings.

Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users on your Windows 10 device.

Ensure no child accounts are listed under Your family.

Update Your Profile Information

After ensuring no child accounts are linked or have parental consent:

Go to the Microsoft Account page.

Navigate to Your info > Edit country/region.

Change your country/region to the US.

Contact Microsoft Support
