Windows 10: I'm unable to sign into my microsoft account on my desktop version of word/office, error...

The error I am receiving is 0x80070426. I am attempting to sign into my microsoft account in order to save my files to onedrive from word. This problem has persisted for a while, and only effects the desktop version, I can sign into the web version just fine. I am currently signed in using my university email, but that does not sign in to onedrive. Any help would be appreciated.

Is it just one file, or all your word files?

With the exception of Outlook, I have yet to find a reason to stop using Office 2000, 2003, and 2007. They open all the latest files just fine, and they work just fine.

Word, Excel and PowerPoint are Office applications. There are different Office versions. You may follow the steps below to check which version of Office you are using.

  Go to File Then select Account.
  
• 
  Click on About Word (Which have symbol of question mark).
  

I also suggest you to check multiple versions of Microsoft Office is installed or not in your system. You may follow the steps below:

• 
  Go to Control panel.
  
• 
  Click on programs and features.
