I saw in my windows 10 the main os that in the device manager under Network adapters i have two Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter and Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter #2 Not sure why i have two adapters.The third adapter is the one in windows 10.My package download is 1GB speed and when tested in windows 10 it was fine getting to more then 900MB/sbut on the windows 8.1 in the virtual machine the speed test get maximum to 100MB/s Is there any way to fix it , maybe to make that both will use the maximum speed when I switch between them ? If i'm in the windows 1.8 so use also the 900MB/s and if sw

Where is the Hyper V Manager, How to I start it ?

I am trying to setup an XP virtual Machine on Windows 10 Pro.

I followed the steps in Neil Peterson article of 5/9/2016.

System Requirements - done - ok

Install Hyper-V - done - ok

Create a Virtual Switch - skip

Create a Virtual Machine

Create a Virtual Machine with Hyper-V Manager

These steps walk through how to manually create a virtual machine and deploy an operating system to this virtual machine.

Uhhhhhhhhh - this step obviously implies one knows

1) Where the Hyper-V Manager is

2) How to start the Hyper-V Manager

Isn't that odd ?

 

How to install Windows XP on Hyper-V virtual machine?

I have a very old program of the year 2005, which fails to run on windows 10, because very ancient help system.

In fact the program installs on windows 10, but help files of it did not work with the new version of WinHelp

I've decided to create a Hyper-V virtual machine and install there Windows XP (service pack 3), which I got from

Microsoft site. I've created the virtual machine (named Windows XP) In Hyper-V manager (which came with Windows 10 Pro). But I failed to find any info of how one can install an OS on virtual machine. Now my virtual

machine runs only with command line interface.

My windows 10 is 64 bit, and comp has 8 gigabyte RAM. I would appreciate any help, permitting to install Windows XP, situated on one of partitions of my HDD, on the virtual machine.

I think I was steered to this forum incorrectly, as the only topic listed below is Upgrade Reservation Please give me the correct forun to send this to.

I am currently running Windows 7 Pro, which enables you to run Virtual xp through Virtual computer.

I understand that windows 8 replaced virtual machine with something called Hyper-V, which apparently is what Windows 10 will do as well.

However, when I searched for information on Hyper-V, it seems that this program/software is meant only for windows server machines.

Can Hyper-V be installed on my own machine so that I can download virtual xp and run it exactly the same way I am currently running it with Windows 7 Pro?
