Windows 10: image inside icon thumbnail does not fill the icon box

I recently upgraded to Windows 11. I didn't like the available icons to change for my folders, so I have learned how to create ".ico" pictures to change the icon, but the icon inside the folder thumbnail is very small and I can't figure out how to get it to fill the box.

As per the above added info, I suggest that you follow the steps below and check.

1. Open the location where you images or saved.

2. Here click on the View Tab and then on the Option drop down.

3. Here click on the Change folder and search options.

4. Here under View tab, check the box Display file icon on thumbnails
and uncheck Always show icons, not thumbnails.

5. Click on Apply and OK.

Weird desktop icon behaviour on Steam

Yes, they are; however, when I right click on the "blue sphere" icon to change it and browse to the corresponding folder inside the Steam folder, it lets me go through all the steps, but the blue sphere remains. *Confused

4. Here under View tab, uncheck the boxes Always show icons, not thumbnails, and
Display file icon on thumbnails.

5. Click on Apply and OK.

6. Reboot the system and check.
