    Image loses quality when I make it my wallpaper


    So my issue is essentially the title. I'm an animation student and I sometimes make stills I've made my wallpaper and when I do they lose their resolution and I don't know why. The images are 3840x2160 and my monitor is only HD so it may have something to do with that. But, I think it's unlikely because when I have the image open in the photos app it's at a higher quality. When I flip back between the photos app and my wallpaper there's a fairly significant drop in resolution. Anyone ever have this issue and able to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    How to prevent wallpaper compression in Windows 10?

    I'm running Windows 10 October Update and in case i know that Windows 10 reduces my wallpaper quality everytime! Of course this is real!

    I already followed this step:

    1. Open Registry Editor
    2. Go to HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop
    3. Create an DWORD value named JPEGImportQuality.
    4. Set it as decimal and the value to 100

    But my wallpaper quality still gets reduced.
    For example here is an test that i made to ensure that the setting still works.

    The following is the original image made in MSPaint (2MB):

    Everytime when I set the wallpaper, it reduces the quality. How can i solve this in the new Windows 10 update?

    Surface Book wallpapers are all bad quality

    Hi,

    I've tried to change the wallpaper of my Surface Book 1, and every image i've tried has turned out extremely bad quality. I know that the resolution of my surface is 3000x2000, and so i've tried images at that resolution, 4k+ images, and other lower quality
    images. Any help would be appreciated.
