Windows 10: images are all negatives, in File Explorer, Chrome, and Edge.

After a recent installation of Windows 10, now all images are negatives -- photos stored on the computer and photos in both Chrome and Edge. What went wrong? How to fix it?

Images showing as black / negative / posterized

Hi all,

I recently got a new laptop, HP Zbook G3, Windows 10 64-bit pre-installed.

Everything works fine except when browsig the internet the images sometimes appear black, as if they are shown as negatives, and with a posterized effect.

It happens across browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome), and today I expereinced the same issue in Adobe Lightroom, where all the images in the library are shown black/negative. All files have proper colors when shown in File Explorer.

Any ideas what I could do?

This issue is really compromising the usability of my pc.

Can't install Chrome from Edge in Windows 10

After reading several of the posts listed here, I too have been using Edge since updating to Windows 10 and could not download Chrome. So, following one of the suggestions, I went to the start button and opened programs and selected Windows Accessories
and selected and opened Internet Explorer and searched for Google Chrome download and it installed in less than 3 to 5 minutes max. Not sure why problem in trying to install using Edge but Explorer allowed me to get it down in minutes. Thanks for suggestion.

 

Explorer, Chrome or Firefox ?

IE11 has adblock easy list too.

Altohugh my no1 is still FF, the only thing that kinda sucks is it doesnt have full 1080p 60fps support @html5 (max 720p), IE11 plays that fine np.
