Windows 10: Images within some PowerPoint and Word files become corrupt randomly - Windows Server 2019...

Hoping that someone can assist or may have come across a similar issue.We have a client with a fairly standard server file share setup. They have one network file share hosted on a Windows 2019 server. Users access this from a mix of Windows 10/11 desktops and laptops over LAN and WiFi. Over the last 7 months, users have noted that in some PowerPoint and Word files, some of the images within, become corrupted. An example of this is below:There is nothing common across the images or documents that we have been able to identify. Some images are PNG, JPEG, pasted from snips, copied from other loc

• Office 2019 will ship in H2 of 2018. Previews of the new apps and servers will start shipping in the second quarter of 2018.
• Office 2019 apps will be supported on:
  • Any supported Windows 10 SAC release
  • Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2018
  • The next LTSC release of Windows Server
• The Office 2019 client apps will be released with Click-to-Run installation technology only. We will not provide MSI as a deployment methodology for Office 2019 clients. We will continue to provide MSI for Office Server products.

 

Microsoft Windows Home Server Corrupts Files

Microsoft has warned Windows Home Server users not to edit files stored on their backup systems with several of its programs, including Vista Photo Gallery and Office's OneNote and Outlook, as well as files generated by popular finance software such as Quicken and QuickBooks. "When you use certain programs to edit files on a home computer that uses Windows Home Server, the files may become corrupted when you save them to the home server," Microsoft said in a support document posted last week. The document went on to list the software, which includes Windows Vista Photo Gallery, Windows Live Photo Gallery, OneNote 2003, OneNote 2007, Outlook 2007, Microsoft Money 2007 and SyncToy 2.0 Beta. Others programs, however, may also corrupt files stored on a home server powered by Microsoft's operating system. "Additionally, there have been customer reports of issues with Torrent applications, with Intuit Quicken and with QuickBooks program files," the document said. "Until an update for Windows Home Server is available, we recommend that [you] do not use the programs that are listed to save or to edit program-specific files that are stored on a Windows Home Server-based system."

since this happens in some of the computers only, suggest that you open the file on working computer and copy everything and paste to a new powerpoint file.
