  1. Imaging a disk with macrium

I have tried several times to make an image of a windows 7 disk.. Using macrium reflect and it just
won't do it. It says can't make an image of this disk.. no reason given. On the same computer
with another disk that has windows 10, it works just fine, i can image it ok. Just wondering if anyone
else has run into this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it..
By the way, windows 7 and 10 both work just fine, no problems.
Any and all help very much appreciated.

    :)

How can developers create entire custom Windows 10 instance images for future recovery?

Are you referring to a disk image?

    What is a disk image?

You can make your own disk images with disk image software.
    Macrium Reflect
    is an example.

  3. Windows Boot Sector corrupted

Does your HDD installation still work? If so then this would be the correct procedure to follow:

    • Use Macrium Reflect (or a similar tool) to create an image of your installation.
    • Disconnect the HDD, connect the SSD.
    • Boot the machine with the Macrium Reflect bootable rescue flash disk.
    • Restore the image to the SSD.
In general: When restoring images you must make sure at the first reboot to connect the new disk only. If both disks are connected then you risk ruining both installations.

If a disk contains bad sectors then Macrium will not work unless you set it to skip bad sectors. Open Admin Command Prompt and run chkdsk :X /r where X: is the drive letter of your Windows 7.
In addition, set VSS Options as shown:
