Windows 10: IMAP stopped working between Gmail.com and Mail

Help. I have deleted and reloaded Mail 20 hrs. apart. Still, the changes I made in Gmail.com so not show up in Mail. I don't want to update files on each device. Iphone, windows and Gmail.com. My computer mail and my Iphone seem to still match and update correctly. I don't want to lose emails. I want the changes made on Gmail.com to update on my other 2 devices. I can't find where they fix password problems as suggested.

Google Adds IMAP Support to GMail

GMail has gained IMAP support, one of the most requested features for Google's web-based e-mail service. If you log into your GMail account and head to "settings", the tab for "Forwarding and POP" should now read "Forwarding and POP/IMAP." If it doesn’t, be patient, Google will be rolling out the new IMAP features across the service over the next few days. With IMAP you can access your mail via your desktop client, read mail, make changes and have those changes mirrored by any other client accessing the account. If you access your mail from multiple machines, IMAP allows them all to stay in sync. To enable IMAP in GMail just head to the settings page and change your access from POP to IMAP.

Windows Mail not working with Gmail using IMAP settings

Thanks but this is not the issue - I am not using 2 step verification in Google - I did try switching this on and following the steps to set an app specific password but I could still not download any emails. The IMAP process worked a week ago and just stopped - no changes were made in either Gmail or Windows Mail. Using 21H1.

 

Windows Mail not working with Gmail using IMAP settings

I have two gmail accounts set up under Windows Mail - one was set up under the "Gmail" option and works fine. The other was set up using the "Other" option and IMAP as I need to be able to use a different sender name for the second one. Until last week these were both working fine however the account set up under the IMAP option is no longer receiving or is able to send emails (It is connected to my Gmail account as I can see the folders listed). In addition, if I try and sync this account it does not pull any emails from Gmail - I have tried setting this up on my mobile phone using the same IMAP settings for my Gmail account and it is working so it is not an issue with my settings in Gmail.
