Windows 10: IME Japanese does not work properly

When I am typing using Japanese IME, a certain key messes up what I am typing.
It is not the key all the time, but a different key does it here and there, and it is hard to replicate.
What it does is it erases or inactivate what I have just typed.
For example, typing "na" should covert to "” but when I type "n" followed by "a", both "n" and "a" gets erased by typing "a".
In other cases, typing "na" converts to "”, missing "n". "n" does not get typed.
I long-press the malfunctioning key to get out of this when it happens. For a while, the key types and erases itself for a while, and eventually back to normal.
It is not a certain key doing this, but different keys. I have not found any rule around it yet.
When I type in English, I have no problem and I do not think it is a keyboard problem.
Would anyone have any idea what is causing this?
I removed the Japanese IME from Language and reinstalled it, but it did not get fixed.

Japanese IME

Hi Richard, thank you very much for your advices. As one of your ideas (thru YouTube) suggested, I installed Google Japanese IME. But, again the language bar didn't work properly. Keys produced wrong Japanese characters. So, I gave up last night and shutdown
the computer.

However, after re-booting this morning, I realized that both IMEs (Microsoft and Google) work properly. I have no idea what happened. Maybe, some Window updates before shutting the computer might have cleared the problems. ?????? But, again, thank

Japanese IME Not Working

I use Japanese on and off and have been working in the past. At some point it stopped working. When switch to Japanese, the 'A' isn't there like it used to be and there is not option to switch to hiragana, kana as it is not there anymore.

I have tried all the shortcuts, uninstall Japanese language pack, and replaced some files in the IME folder from a working Windows 10 pc (virtual box).

I am running 1903 and Windows update is up to date.
