Windows 10: IME Options missing for Japanese language

Hi,

I have a problem with the japanese IME options that doesn't show up in the taskbar when switching to Japanese Japanese Microsoft IME.

This only occurs on one of my user account and only on one PC. I have another PC that works just fine with both the input indicator icon showing and the IME settings icon. As said before. I tried this on another user account on the same PC that has the problem and it works fine too.

I tried restarting multiple times, reinstalling the Japanese language package, logging out and in the user account, installing the latest windows updates... All of this with no success. I also tried enabling the icon in the taskbar settings but it was missing there too.



As you can see, the missing icon in the one next to the keyboard one. the icon changes depending on the user's choice.



This is what have on this user account. As you can see the icon is not showing...

I've seen other people having the same problem but none of the solutions mentioned helped me fix this.

Japanese IME missing in language bar

Thanks for your reply. Tried this, CTFMON loaded on startup. But nothing really changed as Japanese IME still missing (whole language in language bar and keyboard in Japanese language options). Language options visually differ from other PC where IME is
present.

1. Have you recently made any changes on the device?
   
2. What is the version of Windows 10 that you are using?
   
   You may try the below suggested steps.
   

Method 1. Remove the language pack

Step 1. Select the Start button, go to
Settings > Time & Language > Region & language.

Step 2. Select the preferred language pack > Click on Remove.

Method 2: Re-adding the Language pack

Step 1. Select the Start button, go to
Settings > Time & Language > Region & language.

Step 2: Click on Add a Language >Select the
Language (Japanese).

Step 3: Click on Set as default.
The default language will be the first language in your language list.

Step 4: If you click on Options button, you will see the following panel open up. Here you can download
Language packs and add Keyboards and check the working of Japanese IME.

Method 3: Restore from a System restore point

You may refer the section
Restore from a System restore point,
if the method 1 fails.

Japanese IME with German QWERTZ-Layout

I did add the input language japanese(日本語), as well as german(Deutsch (Deutschland)), english and french.

In the options screen for japanese, I only have the option to:

• download handwriting
• further settings for speech recognition
• change layout of hardware keyboard (only japanese and english keyboard available)
• remove/add new keyboard (Microsoft-IME or third party IME)
• configure Microsoft-IME

Thus I assume the language package has already been intalled.

In Region & language in the language list, there is also written that the language pack is installed for japanese.

I am looking forward to your help.
