Windows 10: Impact of KB Patches on current DCOM settings on a Yokogawa server

[MS-DCOM]: Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) Remote Protocol is no working after the patch applied on the server machine.

Hi,

Most of our server machine is failed to connect using MS-DCOM. It was working before the patch applied. We are facing difficulties to identify the windows security updated related to DCOM (means to find the exact KB version installed updated is showing more
than 100 KB).

Please help us to find the root cause of this issue. This is happening all the server after applying the windows patch.

It's working after reverting the patch as well. Happy to provide more details let me know any other information is needed to troubleshoot.

 

Can we have a complete list of patches released (precede and supersedes) for DCOM.

I am working on OT systems to get the DCOM patch identified which may cause disruption in plant operation as many applications may not work properly after the MS patch release which is required to overcome the issue with CVE-2021-26414. It has become quite difficult for us to identify the patches (KBs) related to the DCOM settings change. Please help me to a list of the DCOM patches for MS Windows 2016 & MS Windows 2019.

 

Follina - Impacted Software & Patches

Hi,

I would like to seek clarification on the Follina vulnerability - CVE-2022-30190.

In some of the security blogs (e.g. this), it was mentioned that this vulnerability affecting several MS Office version, but according to Microsoft guide here, security patches were released for several OS. Therefore I have the following doubts:

1. Does the vulnerability only impacting server/workstation with MS Office installed?

2. Noticed the patches listed in the MS guide above were released on 30 May but I understand that Follina patches were released only on 14 Jun 2022. I further check the KB article and they does not stated to address CVE-2022-30190. So what are the relationship of the patches listed here?

I would like to confirm the above to ensure my company endpoint are all patched to get protected.
